Looking for posts for your project? We have 5, 6, and 8 inches in diameter posts and can special order up to 10 inch posts.
We can custom drill holes to receive the top and bottom rail and all posts up to 8” in diameter.
5” posts can also be half notched for easy instillation.
Measurement Guidelines
When beginning your railing project, we will need a simple diagram to work from. If you already have posts, measure the space between them (inside to inside).
Also be sure to note the size of your posts, and whether they are square or round. If there are no existing posts, measure the total length of each area that needs railing. From there, our technicians will add the LogHeads posts needed for these areas.
Log Railing Specifications
For stairways, measure the length of the stairs diagonally (nose of the top tread to the nose of the bottom tread). If stair angle is greater than 37, stair rails must be drilled for spindles and assembled on-site as well.
You will also need to provide the angle on which the stairs run. Call 859-548-2040 to let a log railing expert help you measure. Stair posts are not drilled or notched. This must be done on-site to insure proper rail alignment.
